“The Cruel Prince” by Holly Black

My reading slump is awful these days but this book was very good and made me want to read and finish a book again!

I really love the world of fae because these creatures are beautiful but also cruel. They don’t feel or need like humans and the most important: they can’t lie. But words can be deceiving and everyone must pay attention.

Jude is not a fae but she lives in their world. Actually, she lives with the man who killed her parents but for them is not important. She knows this life only and she only has to do what she can in order not only to survive but to thrive as well.

Everyone has his/her own agenda. There are too many lies and secrets and it is a very difficult task to find someone to trust. Not even your own blood.

I liked Prince Cardan but I believe that there are much more of him that I don’t know about and I can’t wait to find out!

Of course, I am going to read the second book of the series!

“Sweet Home” by Tillie Cole

“Hey Mol.

Hey You.

You gonna give up that lucky sweet kiss?

If that's what you want.

It most definitely is.”

This was a nice new adult / sports romance book! It’s a sweet and romantic book with hot moments. The main characters are Molly and Rome and they are so cute together!

Molly had a very difficult life. She’s from England and she lost her parents, first her mother and then her dad, when she was a little girl and the her grandmother passed away  when she was teenager. She’s very smart and her academic studies brought her in USA. Then, her life changed because of a very hot football player!

Everyone thinks that Rome has the perfect life. He’s rich, famous and an amazing football player. They don’t know that he has a cruel family and that he wants nothing to do with them. When he meets Molly, he finally found a purpose in life! I loved the way he was with her!

“A home is not a place. It’s not a country or a town or a building or possession. Home is with the other half of your soul, the person who shares in your grief and helps you carry the burden of loss. Home is with the person who throughout it all never gives up on you and brings you eternal happiness.”

I liked the plot and the writing style of the author. Also, the secondary characters were also pretty cool! It was a nice read and I totally recommend it!

“The Final Offer” by Lauren Asher

The final book in this series is definitely as good as the previous ones. This is the story of Cal and Lana and their love story goes way back.

I loved Cal! He has an alcohol addiction and he’s trying to receive his inheritance doing a difficult task. Why difficult? Because he has to spend time with the only woman he loved. I loved him so much because I could see that the only thing he ever wanted was to be accepted and to feel loved. He made mistakes but he did everything in his power to become a better person.

I liked Lana a lot. She’s still heartbroken but she’s doing her best in order to raise Cami by herself. It’s easy to see that her love for Cal is strong after so many years. Truthfully, she made some mistakes also, but it’s not easy for her to trust Cal after everything that happened.

I am glad that they found their HEA!

If you are fan of contemporary romance, I believe that this series is definitely for you!
