This was a nice read! A slow burn sports
romance, full of angst and with very interesting characters.
“My brain goes caveman on me. Summer scream.
Summer danger. Save Summer.”
Fitz is not only a hot hockey player full of
tattoos but he is also a very smart game designer. He is attracted to Summer
but he doesn’t want to admit it, because she is not his usual type. I have to
admit that his behavior wasn’t the best at first. He made mistakes and he
nearly lost his chance to be happy. For the first half of the book he was
judgmental and he had every stereotypical though about Summer, but thankfully
he finally realized his mistake.
“She has the kind of smile that makes a man
want to start writing very bad poetry. Dazzling and genuine and as beautiful as
the rest of her.”
Summer is like her name! Full of life and
energy. But she is so much more. Her learning disabilities is something that
bothers her but she did all her best in order to succeed and that is showing
her strength. Although, she is super wealthy, she wants to rely on herself and
to be successful in her own way. I liked her a lot because she has great sense
of humor and she loves passionately.
The story is great because it’s funny, with
sweet with many emotional moments. Also, the story is addressing important
topics as abuse of power and stereotypical thinking.
I really liked and the secondary characters
also. It’s a refreshing read and I truly believe that all the fans of this
genre will like it!
